"Providing
a lifetime home and superior care for exotic felines"
Unlike their larger cousins, cougars do not roar, but
they do purr. They also have a chilling scream.
Maya, badly declawed and lame, is a wonderful surrogate
mother when the need arises. She is pictured with young Amos, a black
leopard.
Charlie, is a western cougar who came to us at seven
weeks of age. At the time he was unable to walk due to severe metabolic bone
disease, caused by a lack of calcium in his diet. Thanks to the efforts of his
dedicated veterinarian, he survived and is now a healthy five year-old and a
very social animal. Charlie lives with Maya in their own air-conditioned house,
since Florida summers are especially stressful for them.
